Week of 9/19/2011 Featured Shop

This week I am featuring Bramblewood Fashion Boutique from Etsy:

Hello! My name is Ashley. I'm twenty-one years old. A Christian. A stay at home daughter who is a home-school graduate who loved everything old-fashioned. I strive to dress modestly, but in a very feminine and modernized vintage way. In all I do, I hope to glorify God! Soli Deo Gloria! I also run a modest fashion blog called, Bramblewood Fashion. Be sure to stop by and say hello!

I grew up loving anything artsy. When I was growing up you would find me covered in paint, glitter in my hair, glue on my hands, singing in a hairbrush, and putting on plays for my family.

Now, I put all this creativity into my home business - sewing and crafting for you! I enjoy creating. In my shop you will find skirts that are modest - yet stylish and girlie, purses that hold everything a girl needs, earrings that take you to a far away place, dresses that are vintage-inspired, aprons that have a touch of elegance, and what ever else that strikes my fancy! :)

My store, Bramblewood Fashion Boutique, is dedicated towards modest fashions that are stylish for today's ladies. All skirts are unique, you won't find another one like them anywhere. I draft all my own skirt patterns. Everything in my shop is ready to ship. There is no waiting for me to make everything.

Week of 9/2/2011 Featured Shop

This week, I am featuring Firefly Myst Artisan Jewelry.

I spend my days with 24 great fifth grade students and my nights and weekends with an awesome selection of raku, lampworks, semi-precious stones, sterling silver, etc. In fact, my passion for designing has limited the use of our dining room. I have cleared a spot for our son to eat but my husband and I have to sit in the living room.:) I sell my work locally in stores and art studios. During the summer, I do art shows near the shores of Lake Huron. One of my raku designs won third place, and was featured in the Summer 2009 issue of Stringing Magazine.

This Week's Featured Shop

This week I am featuring gogogorobot from Etsy.com

Meet Halley Proctor, owner of gogogorobot.

Hi, I am Halley Proctor. I live in West Palm Beach, Florida. Although born a writer, I like to surround myself with the tangible worlds I imagine. I am are inspired by strings folded in curious whimsy or knotted in symmetry searching for order, how easy knees can be skinned and how complicated they are to mend, how an accessory can be subtle or the main attraction, the smell of dusty books and reading non-timestamped notes along the edge, transformative vintage clothing and dancing around to the records the wearer might have.
All of my items are in one way or another environmentally friendly, whether it is the handing down of a vintage item from one hand to another or the yarn that I twirl. They are all thrifted, antiqued, or destash leading to the reduction of the demand of a product and therefor reducing its reason to supply. By reducing the supply of a product, there are less gas emissions used to create and ship as well as the resources used to mass produce. All handmade items are one of a kind (OOAK), although limited variables and geometric standards cause some of my items to be similar to others. Basically, I don't use any patterns. My materials are all second hand. I either pre-design or make as I go.
